The Pacific Palisades Art Association invites local fiber artists (and anyone who wants to learn) to bring their knitting, weaving, needlepoint, crochet, felting, and other crafts to our Stitch 'n' Bitch to collaborate on an art piece for Yarnbombing Los Angeles' "A Sky of Stitches."
The YBLA contingent will walk together in the LACMA Art Parade (Sat 6/20, 6-9 pm) carrying festooned fiber art parasols.
For our entry, the PPAA is creating a fiber-art patchwork parasol uniting eight individual panels created by our collaborators, stitched onto one umbrella frame to demonstrate the theme "Stronger Together."
Email Teresa Bernadette ArtistsAdventures@gmail.com for specs and to claim a panel, or bring your work in progress on the 14th to incorporate into the final piece. All are invited to contribute.
The Art Parade is part of LACMA's Grand Opening weekend celebration of the new David Geffen Gallery, and was conceived by Jeffrey Deitch: https://www.lacma.org/event/grand-opening. It will span 0.8 mi along Wilshire Blvd, between Fairfax and Curson. Tickets to the Block Party are free.
